How to style your hair like Carrie Underwood

This country music darling pulls out all the stops on the red carpet with fiercely smoky eyes, luscious lips and an enviable mane that runs heads wherever she goes. If you're steppin' out for a fun occasion (first date, red carpet event, black tie party), here are a few ideas for giving yourself a Carrie Underwood hair makeover. Whether she wears her hair completely down or in an Aphrodite-inspired ponytail, Carrie Underwood's look revolves around loose curls that cascade around bronzed shoulders (often revealed in her choice of halter, strapless or Grecian goddess dress).

To get big, bouncy curls, break out the hot rollers. Wrap 2-inch sections of hair around heated curlers and leave them in for 20 minutes, leaving a few inches between your roots and the spot where you pin the curler (notice how Carrie's hair is smooth on top and curly on the bottom). Spritz with lighthold hairspray. For maximum flexibility (i.e. minimum stiffness), spritz the hairspray onto your hands and simply run them through your hair.
