Carrie Underwood Grammys 2012
Carrie Underwood made a dazzling appearance at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. The five time Grammy-award winner looked positively radiant in a long-sleeved and backless Gomez-Gracia gown. Dramatic eyes and a casual, pulled-back hairdo helped the country crooner achieve an effortlessly glam vibe. Get the look for yourself with these tips.

For Carrie’s glamorous eye makeup, sweep a peachy-beige, metallic eye shadow over the entire lid. Take a fluffy brush and define the crease with a pale-taupe shade. Use a medium-brown shadow on the outer corner of the eye, moving up to the crease. Give your eyes a sexy edge by lining the inner rims of the top and bottom eyelids with a black kohl liner. Use the same liner to line the upper lash line, starting at the center of the lid and moving toward the outer corner. Repeat this for the lower lash line, but smudge it using your finger for a dreamy effect. Make your eyes pop by applying a shimmery-white shade to the inner corners of the eyes. Apply a strip of extra-long lashes to the top lids. Curl the lashes to make them look as natural as possible, before applying two coats of volumizing mascara on top and bottom.

Add a delicate hint of color to the cheeks with a muted coral blush. Use a glossy lipstick in an apricot shade to replicate Carrie’s pout.

Achieving Carrie’s hairstyle is much easier than it looks. For best results, use hair that is a day old, and that has previously been curled. Start by teasing the crown and the top of the head to create volume. Lightly brush hair back and separate into three parts: left side, middle, and right side. Tie the middle section into a low ponytail (hold on to the two side parts, we will come back to them). Tease the ponytail and, depending on the length of your hair, pin it so that the length of the ponytail is about four inches. Taking the two side sections, loosely twist them inward toward the head, and wrap them around the ponytail, securing the ends with bobby pins. This style is meant to look soft and undone, so be sure not to pin the sides too tight. Finish by spraying hair with extra-hold hairspray.
