How to Do Your Makeup Like Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan Makeup
Blond or brunette, Carey Mulligan looks every bit the dainty English Rose with her short pixie hairstyle and radiant, youthful makeup.

Make the look your own with these easy tips.

Moisturize your face after cleansing and, using your finger tips, apply a subtly pink-tinted liquid highlighter all over your face for a gorgeous glow. Spot-cover problem areas (redness, discoloration, dark circles) with a lightweight concealer applied with a precision brush, and keep oil under control during the day by dabbing your forehead, nose and chin with a sponge.

If you have pale skin, apply a pink blush to the apples of the cheeks in a swirling motion, using a fluffy kabuki brush. If your skin is darker, try a berry tone.

Nude tones on lids will keep you looking pretty and fresh like Carey Mulligan. Try a single sheer eye shadow that's no more than one shade darker than your skin tone. Slate gray shadow can be worn to define the lash line, simply use it wet and apply it with a hard angle eyeliner brush. Mascara in soft slate gives lashes an arty-slick look that's easy to layer.

Get naturally "bitten" lips by using a tinted balm in a rose shade, or opt for a quiet berry-pink lipstick. Skip lip liner and slick it on with your finger for a super sheer finish.

@makeup_addict what if you just used concealer on those spots and then blended? would that be too much work? This comment has been removed.

Yeah, I second the tinted moisturizer. Laura Mercier makes some pretty good ones. Or you can try adding lotion to your foundation to thin it out? This comment has been removed.

There are some pretty light-wearing foundations out there. MAC's Face and Body foundation is water-based and looks literally like a second skin. This comment has been removed.

Hey, have you tried using a tinted moisturizer? There is some coverage but it's light enough to look really natural on the skin! This comment has been removed.

She looks like she's not wearing any foundation at all! I have some discoloration and I really can't do without a foundation...is there any foundations out there that make it look like I'm not wearing any foundation at all? This comment has been removed.
