I entered Warrior Fitness in NYC prepared for anything—except the obstacle course laid out in front of us. Harley, who has trained everyone from Lady Gaga, to Katy Perry, to Rihanna, mentally prepared us for the half-hour boot camp class by explaining how he did things and what we would be doing. Each of the eighteen or so bloggers present got her own bag of goodies, complete with a complimentary outfit to workout in and a brand-new pair of New Balance Minimus Zero Sneakers. The class started when Harley began blasting Katy Perry over the speakers, instructing us to run around the gym’s track. We were off!
Over the course of the workout, Harley kept us all panting, with moves like walking lunges, bicep curls, overhead presses, planking, and jump squats. At the end of the workout, we all couldn’t help but breathe huge sighs of relief. The class was intense, but it left us feeling more fit and accomplished for completing it.
Afterwards, we had the opportunity to grill Harley on fitness and nutrition tips, ultimately learning that moderation is the key to any healthy diet and fitness plan, and that every meal should include lean protein, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, vegetables, and water—Harley’s signature five factors, naturally.
Overall, the whole experience was amazing, and I got to walk away with knowledge, new moves, and memories that will last a lifetime of workouts.
