A jaw-dropping Angelina Jolie sauntered down the red carpet at the 2012 Academy Awards, with longtime partner Brad Pitt at her side. The A-list actress wore a stunning, black-velvet Atelier Versace dress, which featured a thigh-high slit. She paired the gown with black, peep-toe pumps, and finished the look with her signature sultry waves. Keep reading to learn how to do your hair and makeup like Angelina.

Begin this look by prepping the skin for a flawless makeup application. Apply a hydrating serum to the face and neck, and follow up with a liquid foundation. Dab concealer over any under-eye circles or blemishes, and then go over the face with a sheer, pressed powder.

Angie used brown tones to create her signature smoky eye. Start by using an eye primer on the lids, all the way up to the brow bone, to ensure your makeup will stay put. Sweep a light-brown shadow over the entire eyelid, stopping at the crease. Smudge a bronze, shimmering shade along both the upper and lower lash lines, and in the inner corners of the eyes. Use a neutral highlighting shade on the brow bone. Draw a line across the upper eyelid using a dark-brown liner pencil. Thicken the line as you extend outward. Use the same pencil along the water line.

A full fringe can add extra oomph to the eyes. Apply two coats of black mascara, and then add two or three individual false lashes to the outer corners of the eyes. To make the falsies blend in better, gently apply another coat of mascara.

Fiery, red lips are the perfect way to finish this makeup look. Angelina used a coral-colored gloss to add color to her famous pout.

Big, voluminous waves like Angelina’s are easy to achieve. Begin by coating strands with a heat-protectant spray, and then blow dry using a round brush. Once hair is dry, apply a smoothing serum, and then divide hair into sections and wrap in hot rollers. Allow the rollers to cool completely before removing. Gently break curls up by brushing through them with your fingers. Use a wide-barreled curling iron to re-curl any face-framing pieces, if needed. Once hair is perfectly styled, mist with a flexible-hold hairspray.
