How to Do Your Hair and Makeup Like Amy Adams at the 2011 Oscars

A dazzling Amy Adams rocked the red carpet in a blue sequined dress at the 2011 Academy Awards. With her blue eyes and bold lips, this starlet was among our favorites of the night. Get Amy’s radiant look with these easy steps.

Capture Amy’s two-toned eye makeup by applying a soft-gold cream shadow to the eyelid. Use a matte blue hue on the outer corner of the eye and create a small, winged effect, as you drag your brush out. Begin in the center of the lid, close to the lash line, and work your way outward. Use this same color to rim the lower lid, smudging the color below the lash line. Curl lashes and coat them with two generous layers of mascara.

For the face, use a peachy-toned blush, and give color to the lips with a glossy, warm-red lip color.

To recreate Amy’s retro waves, begin by parting hair on one side. Use a one-inch curling iron to curl the entire head, pinning each curl to the scalp with a clip. Let the curl cool completely before unpinning each strand. Brush the curls out until they turn into soft waves. Finish this look by applying a high-shine serum to the strands, from about ear-height to the ends.
