Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Treatment

A mix-it-yourself mask that treats dry skin

With the social season (read: fall) fast approaching, we've got several big-night-out beauty secrets under our designer sleeves, one of which happens to be Erno Lazlo's genius moisture masks. Officially known as the Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Treatment, these hydrating facial masks are packaged in two parts: a pink powder and a gel-liquid that you stir together until you create a facial mask with a gelatinous consistency (be careful not to waste either ingredient as they are precious!). A stick is enclosed for stirring and for applying the formual to your face.

When your skin is peeling or feeling parched beyond repair, or if you just want a quickie moisture boost that won't make you breakout before a big event (this moisture mask is completely oil-free), apply a generous layer of Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Treatment all over your face and down your neck if there's enogh to spare. We never seem to have enough left for our neck and chest, but if your face is smaller you may have better luck. Leave it on for as long as possible or until pieces start to fall off in big chunks, calling to mind that delightful scene in Mrs. Doubtfire when Euphegenia Doubtfire (Robin Williams in drag) makes a cup of tea for social worker Mrs. Sellner, with lemon meringue facial mask dripping into her cup.

Besides getting radiant, hydrated skin, part of the fun is wearing this mask around the house. The thick consistency allows you to create ugly crators on your face and add volume and lumps to your nose so you can spook-out your roomies. Once it's settled (it never really "dries" in the traditional sense), you can peel it off in pieces or in one swoop to reveal supple, glowing, hydrated skin.
