I heard that vitamin E is also really great for reducing scars. You use it topically as an oil, and it can be found in bottles (as vitamin supplements) at drugstores.

Vitamin C works wonders on hyperpigmentation and scarring because it helps your skin to exfoliate those damaged layers. Murad has a Vit C serum, and Bare Escentuals just came out with a serum as well. @RoryGautsche also has a great recommendation with Mederma!

Try a little cocoa butter underneath your regular moisturizer. Over time, this will help those scars heal and your skin will be back to what you were used to.

I've been using a product called "Mederma Scar Gel" for tiny scars on my stomach from surgery. It seems to be "lightening" the scars quite a bit. It says to use it 3-4 times per day for 8 weeks on new scars and 3-4 times per day for 3-6 months on existing scars. (I only use it 2x per day). Just don't use it on any "open" scars. If the scarring is really bad, I would check with your dermatologist. Good Luck!
