you should always love yourself the way you are.. but in this case
1. have a totally new hairstyle
2. don't wear too much makeup to look pasted
3. wear clothes you love and not what others love
4. change for yourself not for others as they will tell you things to do and you wouldn't blindly follow it

Depends how dramatic you want to be.
You could pick a make up trend that you like, such as brights or hollywood glam, and think pick a feature you like most about you're self, lips/eyes. different things will look better on different eye colours and skin tone, but if you try a few then commit to you're fav. Try things that you wouldn't normally to see how they look. With hair maybe try a subtle colour difference on you're own hair, or find a style that is a similar colour but different cut. Just have fun with it!
