Should people with parted lips put on lipstick or lip gloss?

asked
I cannot close my lips naturally like most people do because of the orientation of my upper jaw, so this causes my upper & lower lips not meeting each other, and my two upper front teeth can be seen. I have to strain my lips to close them & when I do, you can see that the muscle on my chin are strained. Do you think I should put on lip stick or lip gloss? I do not wish to draw more attention to my lips than I already have.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

If I were really trying to not draw attention to my lips, I would just wear a nice chapstick. Even a neutral colored lipgloss brings attention to lips in my opinion!

I think either one will work, as long as it's sort of natural looking. If you're looking not to draw attention, it's best not to go with a bright shade or a red. Go for natural, and I think you'll pull it off!

I would use the lip gloss. But, please don't worry about how your upper jaw or teeth look like. Beauty is only skin deep.

I wouldn't worry about whether or not your lips close all the way. A lot of celebrities purposely keep their lips parted in photo shoots, to get that sultry look (check out the photo of Angie, she does it a lot). If you don't want to attract attention to your lips, it's best to stick with neutral or light pink shades. I've attached a photo of a neutral gloss, and also of bright-pink lipstick so you can see it doesn't look bad at all. Because your front teeth are always visible, I'd recommend keeping them in the best shape possible, brushing and flossing daily and also using teeth whiteners every so often. Always helps to make the most of what you've got :)

gloss
parted lips
Hi ladies. Thank you for your replies. :) Some of you said my lips look great. I really don't think so... I just uploaded a new photo of my lips in natural state. As you can see, my lips are parted by this much. You can see the whole of my two upper front teeth very clearly. Now that you can see my lips close-up, do your previous comments still count? Or do you think i should not wear any lip stick or gloss?

Lip gloss! lip stick is more shanty and will some times make your lips dry

yehh sure you wear both, and any colour you fancy too depends what the occasion is but i would really give red a miss and go for browner/golder shades

Full lips look great with a natural gloss to it. It has a look of softness but also the gloss can down play the lips if you focus more color elsewhere too.
