Is it better to try and cover a scar or try to draw the eye away from it?

Is it better to try and cover a scar or try to draw the eye away from it?

asked
I have a large long scar on my left cheekbone that is darker than my facial skin. I tried some sort of cover along time ago but it gave me acne and just using it on the scar made me look two toned.

Well I have scars everywhere. 48 of them. I actually have a scar that runs down the nose to the tip and then in and down to the upper lip. Hence the mustache. So I own some of the scars but the cheek scar and structural issues I am having just are bothering me a lot. I think the make up counter might be the answer even though it will feel totally gay doing it. Time for the big girl panties!

Depending on the coverage you have for it, it may draw more attention to it than if you left it alone. Do you know who Padma Lakshmi is from Top Chef? She has a really long scar on her arm, but always wears sleeveless. She just kind of owns it. I say, leave the scar alone.

I'd try to cover it since my friend has a scar that I've never even noticed until she decided to not wear foundation one day. It looks fairly natural as well if you use the right makeup.

You could try a heavier foundation such as Estee Lauder Maximun Coverage Foundation. It works really well at covering up....they do make a concealer too. You could try applying the concealer to the scar and blending the foundation over it. Ask for a sample from any Estee Lauder counter before you purchase it, that way you can see how it works. Hope this helps!

you answered your own question ... by trying to cover it not only are you getting other side-effects but also the cover up looks like another "scar" itself giving you a two-toned look.
My suggestion leave the scar as is. If it is really bad looking use a concealer. If its not so bad then why don't you enhance it and make it look like a bit of wild makeup on your face. (thats only if you are bold enough to do so)
Hope this helps !!
