How protective are you?
asked
I am doing a study on protective instincts in people for school. I know guys are def. in this area, but what about girls? There are several examples I have to use, but one is like if a bf, or friend or little brother or something is like in a physically threatening situation, would you jump in, say if you were trained in martial arts, had a gun, (haha)? I know I would, but I need other opinions. Thanks! I know this is a weird question, but I appreciate it!

It depends on the situation bc there's always 2 sides to a story. However, if someone is in danger or there is a potential threat, then yes I would jump in and say/do something ;) I've always been taught to stand up for what you believe in and for the people you love.

Thanks everyone! This really helps! I am going to take a form of mixed martial arts soon, and I would def. jump in if anyone I cared about-guy or girl, older or younger-was getting bullied! I know girls are less strong (although in lower body they can be strong), but I have heard skill is better than strength and winning is def. possible! Thanks!

I am a first degree black belt in tae kwon do. I took the class so I could learn self defense and possibly protect myself and my daughters if need be. I know men are stronger, even with my awesome tae kwon do skills :) however it is nice to know the self defense techniques because smarter is always better than stronger :)

I think if I jumped in when a male was in trouble they might be offened or annoyed as they'd look less 'macho', but if it was a girl friend and it wasn't their fault then I'd try and protect them. I'm not a violent person so I'd avoid a fight for both me and friends when possible.
