It looks good but I think just a little more length would look even better. You can also go for a more broken bang as to no to appear too heavy against the face in the hotter months to come.

I would do less on top, (bangs) and more on the side. Can you bring the length down a bit to below your chin? How long is your hair now? I think you need more of a "style" than the photo above....play around a bit more and we can help you decide.

You said your hair was straight so to get this particular look you will have to heat up the curling iron. If you are wanting to go short here are a few easier suggestions for straight hair.
