I think you could definitely pull off both caramel and red! I would suggest leaving the red for the cooler months and sport the caramel in the spring and summer months. Your current bang area is a nice color. I wouldn't go too much lighter than that to prevent too many warm undertones from showing through.

I would suggest you ask your hairdresser for a gloss or semi-permanent rinse in these shades. It's a good way to try out the colors, without getting "stuck" with it, if you don't like it-as they rinse out over a month.
